According to the Sacramento Bee today,
A jury on Wednesday awarded damages to twin sisters whose rights were violated by four West Sacramento police officers as the women and their two toddlers were sightseeing on a hot summer day.
In a rare ruling, U.S. District Judge John A. Mendez had already decided the officers had denied the women their constitutional rights. His decision meant that West Sacramento police officers Timothy Twardosz, Ed Hensley, Geoffry Albert, and Steve Godden and the city of West Sacramento were left with nothing to argue at the trial's close except damages.
The jury awarded the two women a total of $33,400 in compensatory damages.
