Former EDCA PO Acquitted On 1 Count; Jury Leans Heavily Toward Acquittal On Other 4 Counts

The Redding Record reports that a Shasta County jury today acquitted former EDCA Probation Officer Joseph Gama of one count of child molestation and hung on the remaining four counts with splits favoring acquittal of 9-3 (on two counts), 10-2, and 11-1.  Don't expect a retrial with those splits.

[POST-SCRIPT: The Judge has since dismissed all charges against Gama in "the interest of justice."  Redding Record, 10/6/09].
