With almost 40 years legal experience between them, prominent Sacramento criminal defense attorneys Mark Reichel and Steve Plesser have joined forces as partners in their newly-formed law firm of Reichel and Plesser. Mark was an Assistant Federal Defender in both the Fresno and Sacramento EDCA offices for more than a decade before leaving for private practice a few years ago. He has been named one of Northern California's SuperLawyers for the past two years and often appears as a TV legal commentator. See ReichelPlesser.com. Among other high-profile cases, Mark currently represents defendant Lo Cha Thao in the Harrison Jack Neutrality Act case.
After interning with Mark at the Federal Defender's Office almost 20 years ago, Steve Plesser has worked as a public defender in San Joaquin, Placer, and Sacramento counties before recently leaving the Sacramento PD's office to join Mark. Among his numerous jury trials, Steve has tried several homicide and three-strikes cases. In the past year, he obtained acquittals in six of his last seven jury trials, including People v. Jackson, a gnarly, three-strikes case with kidnapping, robbery, and assault with a deadly weapon charges. The Law Office of Reichel & Plesser will handle cases in federal and state courts throughout California and nationwide.
