The U.S. attorney's office on Wednesday charged two officers of a Long Island payroll company for their role in allegedly stealing more than $20 million from clients – including $17 million from Sacramento County.
Albert Cipoletti, chief executive officer of Ingentra HR Services, and his company's comptroller, Kerry Seaman, are charged with wire fraud. U.S. Attorney Benjamin Wagner's office filed the charges on Wednesday in federal court in Sacramento.
