Ninth Circuit Affirms EDCA Court Rulings In Prison DNA Collection And Medical Marijuana Cases

In Hamilton v. Lockyear, No. 09-15236, the Ninth Circuit rejected various constitutional challenges in affirming the EDCA court's ruling that California prison inmates may be required to provide DNA samples under California's DNA act. 

In United States v. Montes, No. 08-10539, the Ninth also rejected jury misconduct claims in affirming convictions arising out of a Modesto medical marijuana dispensary.  Modesto Bee, 1/4/11.
