Supreme Court Holds Fair Sentencing Act Applies To Crack Cocaine Sentences On Or After August 3, 2010

The Supreme Court today held, 5-4, that the Fair Sentencing Act of 2010, with its reduced mandatory minimum penalties for crack cocaine offenses, applies to all sentences on or after the Act's enactment, August 3, 2010.   Dorsey v. United States Opinion.

As a matter of simple fairness, here's hoping Congress will eventually make it retroactive to all those sentenced before the FSA became law.
