Congratulations to University of the Pacific McGeorge law school students James Bradford and Shawheen Shafizadeh, who scored a not guilty verdict today for their Federal Defender clinic client on a misdemeanor charge of having a fire at a time and place where fires were prohibited in the National Forest after a bench trial before Magistrate Judge Delaney. (The defendant was found guilty of smoking in the forest, a charge the defense conceded). The case is U.S. v. Zharan, 2:14-mj-0297-CKD.
